Biography

Heather Tierney began her career as a restaurant critic and Eat Out Writer for Time Out New York magazine, where she reviewed hundreds upon hundreds of the city’s top restaurants. She has also made several TV appearances to discuss her food knowledge and restaurant expertise, including the Food Network, Time Out On Demand, LX TV and NBC.

As a restaurant critic for an important cultural magazine, people looked to Tierney as an authority on where to dine in the city, and in 2006 she launched Sorted, a private concierge service for distinguished clients. The first concierge service to focus on a niche, Sorted connects people with last-minute restaurant reservations, dining consultation and event planning.

In November 2007, together with Partner/Chef Kevin O’Connell, Tierney launched Wall Street Burger Shoppe, a tri-level burger joint in the Financial District of NYC. The restaurant has won several awards for both culinary and design excellence, and has been recognized around the world as having the “World’s Most Expensive Burger.” In the fall of 2008, Tierney opened Apothéke, an acclaimed cocktail bar in Chinatown, with partners Christopher Tierney and Albert Trummer. Apotheke has been recognized for cocktail excellence and original design by numerous publications including The New York Times, Bon Appetit, New York Magazine and was nominated for “Best New Cocktail Bar” by Time Out New York.
